#1 Simone Scuffet
Simone Scuffet (born 31 May 1996) is an Italian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie B club Como on loan from Udinese.
His reflexes, confidence, consistency, and stellar performances have earned him comparisons with Italy goal keeper and legendary Gianluigi Buffon.Already regarded as one of the most promising young players of his generation has a long way to go though. Scuffet is regarded highly by the pundits, for they believe with the right club and coaches his career should be on a positive graph. He should guard against complacency though with all the plaudits coming to him at such a young age. The art of goal-keeping is becoming extinct in this era, and that is where Scuffet assumes a greater importance.
Scuffet comes from the Udinese youth academy, who made his first team debut on 1 February 2014 at the age of 17 in a Serie A match against Bologna, as a replacement for injured Željko Brkić.After a string of impressive performances, he was subsequently promoted as first choice keeper, relegating Brkić on the bench.
Scuffet is a proactive, athletic goalkeeper with quick reactions. On 9 June 2014, Scuffet signed a new five-year deal with the club. . On 8 December 2014, Simone Scuffet was named at the #1 spot in the goalkeepers category as part of Outside of the Boot’s 100 Best Young Players to watch in 2015 feature.
In the 2015/2016 season, Udinese, decided to send Scuffet down a level to Serie B side Como, who are more than happy to have him on their cards.
Scuffet has represented Italy at U-17 and U-18 level. In March 2014 he was called up by Italy senior coach Prandelli to join a three-day training camp together with other players.
