4. Adam Gilchrist (DC) – 42 balls
In the first season of IPL, Adam Gilchrist representing Deccan Chargers (now Sunrisers Hyderabad) crashed the Mumbai bowling attack with a sizzling ton. Chasing a modest total of 155 runs, Gilchrist was in a no-nonsense mood and notched up a thumping 47-ball 109 run knock with the help of 9 fours and 10 biggies.
Gilchrist and VVS Laxman put together an unforgettable opening partnership of 155 runs to win their side the match with as many as 8 overs remaining. Though the bulk of the scoring was done by the Aussie glove-man who was always renowned for his attacking demeanor. And this knock was just a testimony of this.
