6. Sanath Jayasuriya (MI) – 45 balls
Much before the emergence of the modern day aggressors like Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, to name a few, the term destruction was associated with the Lankan legend, Sanath Jayasuriya. The former Sri Lankan skipper was the ambassador of aggressive brand of batting from 1990s to the end of the 2000s.
Jayasuriya was part of the inaugural season of IPL and it was in that season only where he played a sweltering knock of 114 runs against CSK which came off just 48 deliveries. It took Sanath only 45 balls to get to the triple figure mark. He had struck 9 boundaries and 11 sixes in this memorable knock.
