Shakhtar Donetsk has always had South American players dominating their league and Willian was no different. A young 19 year old Brazilian was signed by Shakhtar and spent 5 years at the club and gained so much attention from across Europe. In January 2013, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala came forward with a heavy fee to sign the exciting Brazilian. However, he did not spend much time with the Russian outfit as the financial resurrection at the business level forced the team to transfer list its players.
