8. Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Ajax to Real Madrid)- £24 million
Huntelaar was tagged as one of the most deadliest strikers in the Dutch League Eredivise where he was scoring goals for fun for Ajax. And so, the lethal striker was a top target for many big clubs across Europe. But it was Real Madrid who managed to get his signature. Madrid didn’t want to wait till the end of the season and managed to seal a deal with Ajax in January 2009. The dutch poacher, however enjoyed little success in the La Liga scoring just 8 goals in 20 appearances. The Dutchman didn’t last long in Madrid as he left the club after the 2009 season.
