5. Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (Spain) – 81,900
Santiago Bernabeu is one of the famous and prestigious football stadium in the world, and is the home ground of Real Madrid. The stadium is named in honour of former chairman Santiago Bernabeu Yeste who literally founded this celebrated football club. Santiago Bernabeu can hold over 81,900 spectators. The stadium was opened in 1947.
The major improvement in the standards of the stadium happened after Florentino Perez took over the presidency of Los Blancos. He improved the comfort level of the stadium, and excellence of the facilities, which helped in maximizing the revenue for the stadium.
The stadium hosted three matches in the 1982 World Cup, including the final. It also hosted three European cup finals and the UEFA Champions League final in 2010. The stadium also comprises of three full-time restaurants and the club museum.
