7. Ajinkya Rahane (RPS) – 480 runs
The Indian stalwart, Ajinkya Rahane turned out to be the lone batting warrior for the new franchise, Rising Pune Supergiants. Rahane has been one of the most consistent performers in the IPL and this season was again a testimony of that. The Mumbai born-batter amassed 6 half-centuries in 14 outings. The elegant right-hander accumulated 480 runs at an impressive average of 43. But in spite of his glittering performances, he received a lot of flaks as well due to his low strike-rate. Rahane’s strike-rate was in mid-120s which is quite unacceptable considering he is an opener and the onus is upon him to make full use of the Power-Play overs.
