One of the batting stalwarts of ODI cricket in the eras of mid 80s and early 90s, Dean Jones was a trend-setter during his heydays. Jones had donned the hat of a vital-cog in Australia’s maiden 50-overs World Cup win in 1987. He added new dimensions to ODIs at a time when people were just coming in terms with the newest format of the game. From his distinguished walk down the pitch to fast bowlers to his aggressive running between the wickets to his electrifying athleticism in the outfield, he was always embarked for special achievements.
The innovative batter caressed 6,068 runs in 164 ODIs at an amazing average of 44.61 with a useful strike-rate of 72.56.
